About This Project

We designed and built this dirt drag bike for Ken.

The engine is a supercharged Toyota 1UZ. It is fairly stock with the exception of inlet valve springs and head gaskets. It was set up to run a Autronic ECU.

The bike was never finished and I believe it is up for sale.

This little setup helps to get the ergonomics right for the customer.

We did the supercharger installation first to make sure it would fit in the bike, or at least the bike would go around it. Back half tacked up, time to start on the front.

The gearbox is a bay B&J. I’m not convinced is is strong enough but it is what Ken wanted to use.

The small tank in front of the engine is for fuel.

Clive Ross from Hammerworks helped with the body which is just going to be a plug for the fiberglass version.

The body panels were wheeled by Clive Ross at Hammerworks. This was before I bought my own English Wheel.

The plate on the side of the bike is to get the footpeg position correct.With multiple hole choices, keep trying till you find something that feels good.

Primary drive cover and gearbox mount. The primary drive is by 620 chain.

Modified WR450 front end fitted.

Looking well on. The plate on the top of the chassis is a scatter shield. It was make in a carbon kevlar composite.

Rear ballistic shield to keep the dirt out. The body will do the top half.

Front guard support.

We made the aluminium belt cover as a mold to make a carbon one. Windrush yachts do the Carbon work.

Water cooling pipes and custom pulleys. The dry sump oil pump is behind the engine. The mechanical fuel pump drive off the end of the oil pump.

Good tough looking bike, just needs wiring, plumbing and paint.
