SAFARI QUAD 2

I built this quad for Heath Young. Heath had one we had modified but it came by an accident. See Safari Quad 1 for the pics.

This quad was built for Heath to compete in the Dakar Rally. Just before it was completed the organisers of the rally changed the rules to exclude custom quads. Dakar plans out the window. With the Dakar plans scrapped we continued with the build only to have the rally organisers reverse the decision, but too late for us to organise freight. The decision may had had something to do with a French team entering with a custom quad. French organisers, French team, that wouldn’t happen would it?

The new quad features increased wheelbase to improve high speed stability.

After two attempts, Heath finally won the Australian Safari.
